bats' book blog

  hi

my name is bats (they/it/he) and i'm terrible at talking about myself lol

ace, nonbinary, & poly. hellenic polytheist. vampire appreciator & saw girly.

this is my book blog where i archive liveblogs i do, along with longer reviews. i'm also trying out different ways to find book recommendations and writing about it.

i read a lot of urban fantasy, mystery, romance, and horror. I love a good monster-of-the-week type mystery, and I'm really into aquatic horror. I also read a lot of cozy mysteries. I'm currently also experimenting with cozy fantasy.

aside from reading, i also like crochet, tarot, dead by daylight, & music.

i'm on tumblr as batking-lich. that's where i do my liveblogs live. you can also email me at batsbooks at proton dot me

big shoutout to lexyeevee, minalien, and lexi on cohost for teaching everyone how to do these! i had to mess with the new poly flag one a lot because it wasn't working, but it's mostly fine now i think. i also had to do it twice since the inline styling didn't work when put in the style sheet for whatever reason. the heart still gets messed up if you put it in something that uses margin: auto but otherwise works fine now ♥

i was also able to make an intersex flag using a radial gradient but it doesn't look as god as the other one & the circle positioning gets a little wonky, especially if you wanna use the text mask trick.

tried to do a progress flag but it's got so many layers, it gets thrown off kilter too easily. you basically have to manually realign the triangles each time :(
